Sherd spindle whorl

Medium to large sized perforated disk, manufactured from a Sacaton Red-on-buff jar sherd. Shape is rough and the edges are incompletely smoothed; perforation is slightly off center. This spindle whorl was recovered a free-standing room in a habitation area at Pueblo Grande. No evidence was discovered at the site for craft specialization in spinning yarn.
